Andalusia a day in the life Video:
The Evolution of Andalusia at Coral Mountain, La Quinta
Andalusia has evolved over time creating a unique blend Spanish and modern styles. ‘Spanglish’ is defined as a portmanteau of the words Spanish and English. It is descriptive of the effortless switch and mix between Spanish and English used by people who speak both languages, or parts of both languages. The evolution of Andalusia mirrors the word ‘Spanglish’ by blending a smart sophistication of modern Orange County interiors and the beauty of the Spanish countryside.
The blending of styles evolved from the initial concept originating from the region of its namesake in Southern Spain, Andalusia. The original concept conceived by Grady Sparks, set the stage for an incredible golf experience that features double wide fairways set to the orchestral views of the Santa Rosa Mountains. Each home includes a pool, spa and incredible views juxtaposed with the old world charm of Southern Spain. After weathering the recession, Andalusia shifted to modern contemporary interiors and family inclusive amenities creating a unique and engaging social atmosphere. This mix of classic European charm and contemporary elegance has organically captured the imagination of buyers from across the country to around the globe. Andalusia’s original concept and new contemporary interior designs has truly made this community a superlative example of Desert luxury, and, like those that move between English and Spanish a smart adaptation to change.
A Taste of Spain, Privacy and the Golf Experience
Andalusia at Coral Mountain was originally designed with a collaboration between Hart Howerton (land planning), Rees Jones (golf course design) and Phil Pekarak (floor plan designs) who based thier designs on the old world architectural style of Southern Spain. Grady Sparks the former president of T.D. Desert Development, sent his design team to Southern Spain for a 5 day tour, exemplifying the commitment to authenticity of the design. During their trip to Southern Spain, the team researched and experienced, in depth, the lifestyle, art and architecture of the region. This gives the community an authentic Spanish feel as you walk the links, tour the incredible clubhouse and take in the remarkable vistas. When designing the original plan for the community golf took center stage. The plan included double wide fairways that required builders to move over 7,000,000 cubic yards of soil to emulate the rolling hills of Southern Spain and propped up the homes for the required privacy to each home. This notable design is apparent on the signature holes of 7, 15 and 17 where the views and landscape architecture shine.
The Andalusia Magic Modern Look
Walking into the model homes at Andalusia, buyers will be struck by the modern interiors and the incredible views from the great room. Contemporary interior designs by Barclay Butera and Irma Shaw layer textures framing the views from the back of the homes, dining rooms and master suites. Currently there are 6 available model home types in Andalusia; Santa Rosa (5,131 sq. ft.), Coralstone (4,502 sq. ft.), Greystone (4,184 sq. ft.), Larkspur (3,612 sq.ft.), Cypress (3,560 sq. ft.), Agave (3,280 sq. ft.). These well appointed plans all include pools and spas consistent with the redesigned interiors. The feel of the homes resembles that of a New York loft or a Orange County bungalow accented with clean modern lines. These interiors have proved to be the magic ingredient to capture the imaginations of homebuyers from
the West Coast and beyond. With approx. 225 homes built and approx. 210 homes occupied Andalusia’s redesign has surely hit the mark.
The community itself supports a vibrant social life. The HOA dues include social club membership, which results in an engaged community of like-minded individuals and their families. Pickleball has become a popular part of the Racquet Club, hosting 2 tournaments with over 250 players, prompting plans to expand the number of courts for resident members. Residents also have option to place sports courts on their own site – if the site permits.
The Racquet Club and Fitness Center has an imaginative mix of indoor and outdoor amenities including Tapas Restaurant, lighted tennis, Pickleball, bocce ball courts, and a 25 meter swimming pool. There’s also miles of hiking and biking trails.
Andalusia has a well earned reputation for its casually refined style and decidedly unconventional approach to everyday life. So much so that it has become “The Desert’s Coolest Place to Live”.
